Appearance and Characteristics:

Different proportions of vinylpyrrolidone with vinyl acetate can be supplied in the shape of powder, alcohol solution, 2-propyl alcohol solution, or aqueous solution. The aqueous products could be cloudy. The clarity of the solution depends on the proportion of vinylpyrrolidone with vinyl acetate. The solution is slightly acidic but not electrolytic.

• Remoistened adhesive and other adhesives for paper
  • Viscosity-enhancing agent and protecting colloid for printing ink
  • The Water-soluble PVP/VA 64 series, can act as an emulsifying agent and protecting colloid for plant-protecting agent.
  • Binder in coating
  • Cosmetics: The PVP/VA series plays a good role as a stiffening agent and film-forming agent. Its hygroscopic capacity decreases with the increase of the proportion of vinyl acetate in the molecular, which is extremely useful for PVP/VA to be used in hair spray, mousse, and hair-set lotion. If PVP/VA is mixed with PVPK30, the effect would be better.

Usage And Application:The PVP/VA series are used as excipients such as lactose, sorbitol, mannitol, microcrystalline cellulose, and as an excellent tablet binder

• Used to prevent tablet cracking in sugar coating, and as a base coating to prevent moisture.
• Utilizes excipients such as lactose, sorbitol, mannitol, and microcrystalline cellulose.
• Serves as a film coating, often used in conjunction with cellulose derivatives, shellac, and high molecular weight polyethylene glycol to enhance the strength of the film.
• Applied for isolating water-sensitive drug tablet cores in coating.
